Family Law Intake Procedure:


    Our office does not accept walk-ins or make appointments. The Clinic assists potential clients through our intake process.

    Our office currently conducts intakes every other Wednesday. Intakes will be held on the following days: 

The next date will be at the end of May and will be posted as soon as possible.

    Intake dates may change. 

    In order to qualify for our services, you must meet the following requirements:

(1) Be a Wayne County Resident 

    OR

(2) Have an open case in Wayne County

    AND

(3) Have a family law issue that includes:

a.    Divorce

b.    Child Custody (parents only)

c.    Child Support (parents only)

d.    Paternity OR

e.    Personal Protection Order (PPO)

    We pass out applications for the intake process starting at 9:00 a.m. We suggest arriving before 9:00 a.m., as applications are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. We trust intake clients to line-up in the order they arrived. Arriving by 9:00 a.m. does not guarantee that you will be accepted for an intake. Elder Law Intake Procedure:


    Similar to Family Law, our office does not accept walk-ins or make appointments for issues of Elder Law.  Our partner organization, the Elder Law and Advocacy Center assists potential clients through an intake process. 

    In order to qualify for their services, you must meet the following requirements: 

(1) Are 60 years of age or older 

    AND 

(2) Be a Wayne County resident.  

    Please call the Elder Law and Advocacy Center at (313) 937-8291 and ask about their intake process called, “First Tuesdays”.
